The History
2012
HOW WAS SURFIN SEM FIM BORN?
One of the partners of Rancho do Peixe e Vila Kalango, Marco Dalpozzo, was greatly impressed about listening to stories of adventures and long downwinds done by the locals of Jeri. There he realizes: The kite, in addition to be a sport, can also be a transport vehicle with natural engine.
Thus, Marco has joined a crossing with natives and did his first downwind from Cumbucu to Preá.
He learned that the experience would not be a single shot, it would take more than a day and would be done by stages. Thereby, Marco starts to understand how work the logistic of long sea crossings and the spirit of Surfin Sem Fim begins to take shape.
2013
WITH A BORD ON THE FEET AND A KITE IN THE SKY…
Then Marco invites Jalila Paulino, to help materialize the dream and organize kite surfing expeditions through the land of wind, with all safety, high standard structures and services.
With the company of his French friend Vincent, Air France pilot, they spent days studying the map of the northeastern Brazilian coast – where the wind is a constant factor, as villages and possible routes to advance in the crossings. The name Surfin Sem Fim comes up, followed by the brilliant idea of surfing waves downwind for hundreds of miles. The project scope is ready, and friends made analogies with flight operations and its hierarchies such as captain, co-pilots, crew, tower command support and difficulty levels.
2014
THE FIRST ADVENTURES?
We invited professional athletes, kite surfers passionate for adventures and counted on the natives support and wisdom to carry out the first declared expedition. Guilly Brandão, Marcela Witt, Melissa Gil, Jalila Paulino and the natives Wanderson Sousa and Felipe made up the team.
We’ve recorded the first images of the expedition, as discoveries and conquers by the sea. It was magical, epic, unforgettable, something that intensely touched our emotions. The need to share with others what we saw and felt became a formatted product, one that can’t be kept, only carried in the soul. Thus, begins a second stage of the dream, with a dive even deeper into the maps and the discovery of new possible routes. This team, was reinforced by Mitu Monteiro, Cape Verdean world kite surfer legend and Rodrigo Minotauro, UFC fighter who finds balance in the kite to perform his profession.
2015
WE WENT TO THE WEST COAST. WHERE WILL THE WIND STOP?
In the first year we have done 5 routes with 31 clients in total. It was a year of discoveries, training guides, formatting new routes and a lot of learning. The Delta do Parnaíba dream is our new passion. A rare and wild phenomenon of nature which makes us feel unique. Then Captain André Penna, our ‘’Indiana Jones’’, an enthusiast of crossings and thirsty for discoveries joins the adventures. We invited the ‘’peixes’’, from Studio Peixe, to develop and transform our feelings into to a brand.
2016
IRON MAN – 600KM
We divided the wind land into three routes.
‘’Ceará Classic’’, Leaving from Cumbucu to Preá. ‘’Delta Route’’, departing from Preá, crossing the Delta do Parnaíba – Piauí and arriving at Atins – MA, in Lençóis Maranhenses. And ‘’Iron Man’’ with its 600 km from Cumbucu to Atins.
A project that had the partnership of channel Off, and was directed by Bruna Arcângelo who gave concept to the documentary. André Penna, Guilly Bandrão, Marcela Witt, Bowen, Marco Dalpozzo e Jalila Paulino were the characters of this milestone in the history of Surfin Sem Fim. What we’ve seen and felt was no longer in our memories only.
2017
SURFIN SEM FIM – DOC ON CHANNEL OFF
The documentary went live. Kitesurfers find out that many of their dreams are now accessible at the wind’s land. 15 expeditions in the same year – three experienced coaches and 12 adventurers. O Surfin Sem Fim grows as brand and also number of clients, reaching 115 expeditioners from all worldwide in the season. Channel Off selects Surfim Sem Fim as the best movie of the year.
2018
IS ULTRA MAN 1.000KM POSSIBLE?
We’ve projected another challenge: Departing from São Miguel do Gostoso (RN), crossing the entire coast of Ceará and also Delta do Parnaíba until arriving at Lençóis Maranhenses, stopping at all E-group’s Inns along the way.
A golden team, tuned in and out of water, composed by Marcela Witt, Jalila, Marco Dalpozzo, André Penna, Sebastian Ribeiro, Tiago Azzi and Nelson Pinto, made this dream come true. In that year we reached the mark of 22 completed routes in the company of 143 clients.
2019
SURFIN SEM FIM COMES TO THE NORTH OF BRAZIL
Surfin Sem Fim follows the trail of the wind, and then reached the northern region of Brazil. After went through many kilometers from Preá to Maranhão, a catamaran is now on the scene and supports the travelers to Alter do Chão, a Brazilian paradise located at the state of Pará.
There were 28 events with 172 different clients that year. The captain and waterman Eduardo ‘’Rato’’ Fernandes joins the team and opens new possibilities and new scripts.
