About the route
This route starts on the lively Prea / Jeri region. We cross 2 brazilian states, and arrive on the incredible Parnaiba river delta, wich we explore for 2 days. Then we finish in Atins, a beautiful village on the Preguica river mouth, the entrance of the Lencois Maranhenses National Park.
Day by Day
12 October – Check in Tatajuba
13 October – Tatajuba to Barra dos Remédios
We start in Tatajuba, just west of Jericoacoara, riding over the famous “white carpet”—a long stretch of smooth, hard-packed sand ideal for fast and effortless kiting. Some nice little waves are on offer along the way, adding a playful touch to the ride.
We continue all the way to Camocim, where we cross the river, then follow the coastline down to Barra dos Remédios.
This stage covers approximately 45 km. After the session, we transfer by 4×4 to Parnaíba, where we spend the night at Hotel Vila Parnaíba.
14 October – Magic River Day
A truly special day. We drive from Parnaíba to the harbour, then take a beautiful boat ride through the channels of the Delta to the mouth of the Parnaíba River, where we begin kiting.
We ride approximately 25 km, combining ocean sections with an incredible river downwinder. After the session, we return by boat to Ilha dos Poldros, where we spend the night. This is one of the most exclusive and unique pousadas in the entire region.
15 October – Crossing the Parnaíba Delta
We cross the entire Parnaíba Delta, riding from Ilha dos Poldros to Tutoia. Around 60 km of pure, untouched nature, mixing wave sections with flat water. A wild and unforgettable day in one of Brazil’s most pristine environments.
16 October – Tutoia to Atins
Another 60 km day, riding from Tutoia to Atins. We kite along the Pequenos Lençóis and finish at the mouth of the Preguiças River, where Atins is located. This marks the gateway to the Lençóis Maranhenses—an extraordinary landscape of vast sand dunes and freshwater lagoons.
17 October – Crossing the Lençóis Maranhenses
One of the most unique days of the trip. We start with a 25 km ride along the coast from Atins. Then we move inland by 4×4 to reach the lagoons, where we continue kiting across crystal-clear freshwater. We finish in Santo Amaro, riding through flooded fields in a surreal landscape. A magical day to experience the dunes—and to finally rinse the salt from both body and gear.
18 October – Check out Santo Amaro
