About the route
This route kicks off in the Parnaíba region, where we’ll spend two full days exploring the breathtaking Parnaíba River Delta. A true natural paradise, the delta is a maze of lush islands and winding channels, alive with vibrant wildlife and spectacular scenery. Next, we’ll make our way to Atins, the quaint riverside village nestled at the mouth of the majestic Preguiças River. Atins is the gateway to Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, and you’ll have three days to discover its wonders: an ever-changing coastline, sweeping sand dunes, and a network of crystal-clear freshwater lagoons. It’s an unforgettable adventure—one every kitesurfer should experience at least once.
Day by Day
9-Sept: Check in afternoon at Parnaiba, Pousada Vila Parnaiba
10-Sept: Magic River day. We do a 25 km downwinder, part by the sea, part by an amazing river. Come back by boat to Ilha dos Poldros, where we sleep. This is the most exclusive and fantastic pousada.
11-Sept: Cross the whole Parnaiba Delta, from Ilha dos Poldros to Arpoador, Tutoia. 60 kilometers of pure untouched nature, good waves and flats. Sleep in Pousada NAK Arpoador.
12-Sept: Another 60 kilometers day, from Tutoia to Atins. We will kite along the Pequenos Lençóis, and arrive on the Preguiça River mouth, where Atins is located. Atins is the beginning of the Lençóis Maranhenses, this huge mass of sand dunes and fresh water lagoons. Sleep in Pousada Paraíso dos Ventos.
13-Sept: Cross the whole Lençóis Maranhenses, from Atins to Santo Amaro. We start in Atins, by the sea, and navigate approx. 25 kilometers. Then we go by car inland, kite on the fresh water lagoons, and arrive in Santo Amaro kiting through the flooded fields — a unique experience. This is a very special day, when we will enjoy an awesome landscape, and remove the salt from ourselves and from the gear. Sleep in a house by the lake.
14 and 15-Sept: Lençóis Maranhenses days, when we will explore this awesome place, kiting on lagoons, lakes, and flooded fields. September is the best combination of wind and fresh water — the best month to kite on the Lençóis.
16-Sept: Check out in the morning
Included
Stays in the most charming hotels in the region. They are seaside hotels, with all the essence that Terra do Vento has.
During the route, kiters are provided sandwiches, fruit, cereal bars, water, Redbull, and gatorades – more fuel for the rest of the ride!
There will always be captains and guides in the water with our kiters; ensuring safety, reliability, and a great time!
Leave it up to us! Our logistics team makes sure that every trip runs smoothly, getting our guests and their things exactly where they need to be.
Each trip is accompanied by a support vehicle (car and boat, as needed). If anything goes wrong or there is a need to leave the water, our ground support team is there for you!
When all else fails, don’t worry! We have a SOS system in place that will bring help to us anywhere, anytime.
We make sure to keep all of our kiters fresh in new Surfinsemfim apparel at the beginning of the trip.
Once the route is completed, each kiter receives an honorable certificate of completion. Hang it on your wall and add it to your resume!

Souvenirs, new equipment, or extra drinks are not included in the final price. Don’t let this stop you from enjoying yourself, feel free!
Transfers To and from the airport are not included, but we can help you organize your transfers and get you where you need to be.
