Itamar Gonçalves

My name is Itamar Gonçalves, I’m 20 years old, and I was born and raised at Praia do Preá. I started sailing at age 11 in 2017—I’ve always been in love with the ocean. My entire childhood was spent on the beach, helping kitesurfers and fishermen, and I kited every single day.

I began standing out in local competitions and earned the chance to compete in two World Championships in Big Air! Eventually, I needed to start working, so I joined the staff at kite schools, guiding downwinders and exploring every spot along the coast.

Today, I’m an instructor and athlete at Rancho do Peixe, where I got the opportunity to train again. Now, I compete in KiteFoil Race and Kite Wave Freestyle disciplines.
